Well folks, the handwriting is on the wall. I believe that within a handful of years we will see the beginning of a single payer healthcare delivery system. Between the mergers (assuming they are approved) and the acceptance of the Affordable Care Act as the law of the land, where else can we go but into a more socialist based healthcare system. Of course, there will still be the ability to purchase health insurance related products (similar to Medicare Supplements) and that will create a two-tiered system, but at least everyone will have access to health care. Now what that access will look like and how long one will have to wait for treatment, now that is a horse of a different color. It will be interesting to see how things play out.
