Default Opening your account as a new agent

    Hi,

I'm a new insurance agent not yet opened my account for selling any insurance. To open my account can i start with insuring my son and husband. Will it affect my commission?

If you are new to insurance, you will need to find a General Agent that sells the products for which you are licensed. From the post, I assume you passed your life insurance exam (I do not know if you passed health too). As such, if you look at my profile and contact me directly, I will give you a General Agent with whom I have been working for 20+ years.

As to the commissions, you will not lose any commissions and you are allowed to write family members ... yourself included. Congratulations and best of luck!

Thanks a lot for the advice. I've cleared my life insurance exam and are going to start with policy for my family.
    Thanks again

Just be careful when insuring yourself and your family. Depending upon your state, it could be a grounds for investigation. More specifically if ALL you write is business for self and family.

There is nothing to worry about as long as other business is written.
