    Default life insurance

I have a policy with for my wife who is now 75 when I applied for the policy through some insurance broker I filled in all the forms and agreed to them approaching my wife's doctors surgery. I got the policy. A few years later my wife had to have a pacemaker fitted. Just recently another insurance broker contacted me by phone and offered to get me a policy for my wife with this insurance firm I explained that we already had a policy with them but he said that did'ent matter we could have two. I explained that she had, had a pacemaker fitted I said I did'ent want them approaching my wife's doctors surgery. They sent me forms to fill in which were already filled in omitting the pacemaker I added the pacemaker. I never heard from this company again for about three months so I thought that was it and threw all the paperwork away. Then I got a phone call where they said my wife had been turned down for insurance after they received medical advice. I asked where from they said my wife's doctors I did mention that I had not given permission for them to approach my wifes doctors. He said they would not have done this if they had nothing signed. He advised me to just carry on paying for the policy I have which I now think may be in jeopardy when it comes time to claim even though it was all above board when I got the policy. Would they have notified the firm I already have a policy with that she had been turned down on medical grounds for another policy?

Just talk to your agent about it in more detail.

I have been with my insurance company for 15 years now but i want to transfer to another company which offered me a better insurance rate, Do you think it is okay? Or should i just stick with my old insurance company and tell them about the offer i got from another company and maybe they'll go down with the offered rate too. What do you guys think? hmmm. I have been trying to compare life insurance quotes here.

I don't think it would matter because an insurance company already gave you a coverage. The company is aware of your wife's heart condition that she might require surgery, pacemaker, continuous medication and more. I'm pretty sure you will not encounter any problem when it's time to claim the benefits. The reason why you didn't get the second policy is probably because of the pacemaker, increasing the risk factors of your wife. Insurance companies have different ways on how to assess the health of one person and maybe the last company is not that lenient when it comes to heart conditions.

One never wants to cancel coverage until they are certain that they are covered under the new policy. Also a policy this old is not contestable by the insurance company.

I think it is not a good idea to go with another health insurance policy when you already have one. You should go with your first health insurance company to know if they have any problem if you have another insurance policy.

Good advice, don't be pressured into replacing coverage.
