    Default Liability insurance

Liability insurance is a part of the general insurance system of risk financing to protect the purchaser from the risks of liabilities imposed by lawsuits and similar claims. It protects the insured in the event he or she is sued for claims that come within the coverage of the insurance policy. Originally, individuals or companies that faced a common peril, formed a group and created a self-help fund out of which to pay compensation should any member incur loss. The modern system relies on dedicated carriers, usually for-profit, to offer protection against specified perils in consideration of a premium. Liability insurance is designed to offer specific protection against third party insurance claims, i.e., payment is not typically made to the insured, but rather to someone suffering loss who is not a party to the insurance contract. In general, damage caused intentionally as well as contractual liability are not covered under liability insurance policies. When a claim is made, the insurance carrier has the duty to defend the insured.

However, it is necessary to identify the risks which are connected with your business before purchasing this policy. With this policy, the insurance provider is referred to as the insurer and the company owner will be the insured. In case a client files a claim against the business, then the insurance provider will take care of the general liability even while the company owner will pay for all the legal fees sustained.

I would like to add that the law requires concerned parties to have liability insurance particularly employer's liability insurance to certain businesses. And this only applies if you have one or more staff members in your employment and there are some noteworthy exemptions. There are some coverage that are not appropriate for your type of business but no need to worry because it is not a legal requirement to have all kinds of coverage.

There are different types of liability insurance, including general liability, which works in much the same way as auto liability insurance, but covers businesses. General liability protects a company from third party claims. Aside from general liability, there is also D & O liability, employer liability, and professional liability insurance.
