Default Can I sell Insurance to myself?

    Hey Everyone,

I am a new agent and I am looking to start an application for myself and my wife. Can I submit an application as both the applicant and the agent? Does this affect commisions?

    Thanks!

Yes, you can write yourself. The real questions is will they advance you to do so. Most companies won't do it.

But it is still like getting a free years worth of insurance.

Cool thanks! I was thinking of going with Genworth, hopefully they will pay me for it.

Most insurance companies allow their agents to buy their own policy where they can get it for less. But other companies won't allow this.

One of my largest premiums is my business health policy. Selling insurance to yourself acts much like a large discount.

Why would I want to buy it from someone else? I heard of an agent that bought his life policy from another agent and I thought it was really weird.

I write my own insurance. I get the commission for it. I just consider it an added discount.

The saying goes that you will be the first costumer of your product you sell. YES you can sell insurance and get commissions at the same time.
