    I’ve been desperately trying to find an insurer that will allow you to extend your policy longer than 12 months and while you are already on your travels and after searching thru god knows how many, think I have struck gold!
    Company is called Globelink.co.uk and they do backpacker insurance at a good rate and also, you can extend your policy when you’re away (as long as it’s before the current one expires!)

    Travel insurance is taken by people to protect their health and other issues when they are out of station, that is a nice plan to buy and gather benefits.

    Travel insurance is so important when going on a backpacking adventure. Unfortunately many yougsters in New Zealand (and Australia) often forget that.
    Your list of must-not-forget items for your backpacking adventure consists of:
    * Airline ticket
    * Travel insurance
    * Cash, traveller's cheques or credit card
    * Passport (incl. visa's you need to enter a certain country)

    All the rest you can forget as you can either buy it overseas or have it send to you. With these four items you can have a fun and safe working holiday or OE.
    Happy travels.

    In addition, generally backpackers are on a budget. You may prefer hostels instead of fancy hotels. Who knows what kind of people sharing accommodations with you are? And you can't possibly carry your backpack everywhere you go. Thusly, the risk of theft increases.

    Travel Insurance is not what you should look at while leaving for the holiday.
    It should be done much before that as you could read all the small and hidden things written in your policy.

    If you want to cover your cash as well as other valuables, you need to take a look at the policies available as such policies often can’t come on cheap prices.

    You should make all things clear while finalizing your policy that these all are things which I want to take Travel Insurance for.
