Pets age has concern with the insurance company. Pet ages reflect the substantial increases in health care costs of aging Pets. Your premiums will not increase due to Your Pet’s age.

as an example here is the rate for HBC Pet Insurance below

    Pet’s Age Dog Cat
    Up to 5 years $150 $150
    5 - 7 years $300 $250
    7 – 10 years $400 $300
    10+ years $500 $350

It is really more expensive to insure older pets than younger ones and some pets may not be qualified if they are older than a certain age limit required by Pet Insurance. So it's best to early insure your pet.
