Default What domain (.com, .biz etc..) do you prefer for an insurance site?

I have noticed that insurance sites tend to be more open minded with domain extensions. They are willing to use .co, .info .tv and other non-traditional domains. Some SEOs are very prejudiced against using anything besides .com, .net .org. But it is true .info is getting more respect.

As far as ranking goes I think the extension makes no difference. The place of hosting makes a difference though. However, this effect can be overcome. For example, a UK hosted site can rank big in America etc.

The reason sites won't rank is due to big competition.

    Hi

    You are absolutely right.

Domain extensions have no effect on SEO. Only possible exceptions are country specific extensions that might have a little effect on geotargeting.

I prefer the .com but often what you want is not available or affordable.

Other SEOs still see ".gov" as high-authority domains but when the major updates like Panda and Caffeine started, I think all kinds of domain extensions are all the same. The only difference is .com is more popular.

Yeah, as they always say: "Dot Com is King"

I think that your best bet is to go with a short domain name and stick with .com

I agree with theinsurancequotes01. The reason why Google launched the Panda update is to eliminate these stuffs. They ignore paid links, exchanging links, getting links from government websites(.gov), duplicate content, and many more. They want us to implement organic and natural SEO for on-page and offpage optimization.

I think .com is the easiest to remember for most of us. The domain I wanted was only available as .net. So now I have to figure out a new domain name!!
