    Hi Addisonn,
I will prefer swimming for you as swimming makes heart, muscles and lungs strong. Swimming increase energy and boost stamina. Swimming prevents from obesity, joint problem and cardiovascular problems and makes hips, shoulders, arms and back muscles strong.

I used to work as a lifeguard at a holiday resort on the south coast in the UK, Butlins anyone? ^^

We had to do loads of swimming to keep ourselves in good form, I found that I had better gains from the swimming than the 18 mile cycle I had to do to and from work (9 miles each way)

Can't comment about running really but I know swimming is excellent for all over fitness.

Swimming exercises more muscles than running, plus it is better for your bones. Running can actually cause you long term damage to your knees and certain ligaments, so swimming is probably a better short and long term option.

This is true, a friend of mine cycles a lot and it's ruined his knees due to the pressure the knees take.

Whereas swimming places literally no strain on the knees.

Ive done numerous triathlons of all distances over the last ten years. I would argue that a combination of the two is best. Swimming is a better all around, full body workout. With that being said the resistance training provided by running is important as well for overall health and the strength of muscles and bones.

swimming is better then running for weight loss, but i always prefer running coz i am a girl & swimming spoils my skin & because of that i got tanning also, so i go for running at morning.

For me, it has to be swimming. It is a full body workout that strengthens your shoulders, arms, legs and other parts of your body.
