Default Can you receive disability insurance for pregnancy?

I know that these might seem strange because you are only pregnant for a short period of time but, can you receive disability insurance for pregnancy? Thanks for any thoughts.

Well ... it depends on the type of policy you are trying to collect under. If you are covered under an employer's short-term disability policy (most do), then once your physician tells you to go on bedrest, your STD benefits begin (check with the waiting period of your group plan for sickness). Plus, most women are provided an additional 8-10 weeks of benefits to recover at home after the delivery (it depends on if it is a C-Section or not). If you have a personal short-term plan, in all likelihood, maternity is not a covered event unless there are complications.
