P&C Insurance

Can anybody explain what line of business is covered under P&C insurance?
eg. In India there are various business lines under General Insurance.
There's a separate product for Motor Insurance.
Fire Insurance,
Marine Insurance,
Health Insurance,
Engineering Insurance etc.

Like wise as far as International Insurance standards are concerned,
1) What products are covered under P&C insurance.
2) Are there different products or a single policy can cover all of them?

P&C = Property and Casualty.

Over the centuries Property and Casualty insurance has evolved to include everything that is not life, health, and disability.

In the US the licensing of agents falls into the two categories. One license for P&C and one license for L, H & D.

P&C includes Fire and other property lines, General and Auto Liability, Marine, Workers Compensation, Professional Liability. Under those categories there are sub-categories too numerous to list.

I don't know what you mean by engineering insurance but if it means Professional Liability or Errors and Omissions, it would be included in P&C.

Business package policies can be written to include many different lines of P&C coverages. Or individual lines can be written separately.

Same goes for international insurance.
