My boyfriend has held a full uk driving license for over 7 years. He wants to upgrade his truck to a 7.5tonne so is in the process of taking the relevant tests. He tried to get a quote for insurance yesterday as he is ready to buy a new truck to take his test in. He was asked how long he had held a uk license for which he answered 7 yrs but then a seperate question how long as he held a hgv license for? Lets say he only passed it yesterday would he put 1 day? Or because it is an addition to his main license would he put 7 yrs also? He tried putting 1 yr and it said you can not get insurance on a truck until you have held a hgv license for over 2 yrs which dosnt sound right! What would be the point in spending all this money on these tests if that were the case?
Can anyone make this clear please? Thanks |
